Position Summary

The Student Success Coordinator reports to the Associate Director for Student Success Systems to support the mission of Student Success and the University of Denver community more broadly. The Student Success Coordinator brings a proactive approach to supporting student success areas, including the Office of Academic Advising, in three key areas:

1. Communications
2. Project/operational management
3. Technology resources, training, and data coordination

The Coordinator develops and implements timely outreach to support student success initiatives and advising and registration communications to both group and individual audiences, including students, faculty, and staff. They partner with the Student Success Analyst to use data to inform decision-making in shaping outreach and communications. They provide specific support to the communication needs of the Office of Academic Advising in support of the DU advising model, and they serve as a first point of contact for specified student communications outreach and processes, providing customer service and appropriate connections to respond to student needs.

In addition, the Coordinator serves as project manager for student success initiatives, including managing the docket and student outreach processes for the Academic Rapid Response Team, which is responsible for elevated student intervention and case management across campus. They provide operational support to the student success team in terms of maintaining standard operating procedures, and they identify, make suggestions, and support implementation of changes to improve operational effectiveness in student success. Finally, the Coordinator supports the adoption and integration of student success technology. This includes supporting the development and maintenance of training and reference materials for a wide range of system users, leading user training, supporting maintenance of student records, managing user access, and responding to user requests.

Essential Functions


  • Prepare and send communications to varying faculty, staff, and student audiences. Manage student success email
  • Partner with student success analyst to respond to student outreach for registration, survey responses, etc.
  • Support Student Success and the Office Academic Advising in developing annual reports
  • Respond to student outreach and connect students to appropriate resources via email and phone
  • Send beginning-of-quarter outreach (incompletes, LMS activity, etc.)
  • Send messages on behalf of Office of Academic Advising, including to faculty, staff, and student audiences
  • Liaise with Office of the Registrar and other offices as needed to coordinate streamlined communication
  • Build and maintain a library of templates for routine or repeat messages
  • Create and maintain centralized resources that support the DU advising model, including both written and visual/graphic representations of processes and policies
  • Prepare and send Academic Rapid Response Team follow-up communications
  • Project and operational management:

  • Serve as project manager for student success projects and initiatives, such as the Path Forward Program
  • Manage the Academic Rapid Response Team docket, both in compiling the docket for the weekly meeting, and in documenting and organizing docket decisions
  • Maintain relevant lists of campus contacts
  • Manage operational needs of student success team, such as standard operating procedures and file management
  • Make recommendations and implement process improvements
  • Technology resources and training:

  • Manage student notes/records, alert tracking, and responses in the student success system
  • Create and update technology tutorials, resources, and website regularly
  • Assist with advisor onboarding and training initiatives and materials
  • Ensure continual maintenance of advising resources in central location (MyDU) as campus-wide resource
  • Update and monitor advisor assignments, workflow, and advisor batch requests in student information system (Banner) and DUs student success system and advising platform
  • Respond to user help tickets regarding system issues, requested training, and requested user access
  • Support Associate Director in data compilation and system assessment
  • Support adoption and integration of student success technology

  • Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Project management experience
  • Customer service experience
  • Proficient use of Excel
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience managing communications in support of student success initiatives
  • Experience in academic advising in a university setting
  • Experience creating and/or implementing communication plans
  • Experience with graphic design software, such as Canva, Adobe InDesign, etc.
  • Experience using Banner student information system (SIS) and/or student success CRM systems
  • Work Schedule
    Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

    The salary grade for the position is 7.

    Hourly Range:
    The hourly range for the position is $21.50 - $24.50.
