Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Marketing/Proposal Specialist for a position based out of Southfield, MI and/or Toledo, OH.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing leadership for proposal closeout process to capture best examples of content and to verify/implement appropriate storage, including:

  • Editing and storing best examples of executive summaries, experience, past performance, management sections, etc., for use in future proposals; also providing input to identify these best examples

  • Editing and integrating updated resume and project information for storage within CRM or proposal automation system

  • Participating in capture planning and positioning activities as they pertain to identifying content to use for the proposal.

  • Facilitating/participating in quality reviews and applying lessons learned to add value to proposals or similar bid documents.

  • Supporting debriefs and gathering of client feedback on proposals to drive continuous improvement, as required.

  • Supporting special projects, as required.

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS Degree preferably in Journalism, English, Communications, Marketing + 4 Years of relevant experience in proposal writing OR AA/AS + 6 years of relevant experience in proposal writing OR HS/GED + 8 years of relevant experience in proposal writing

  • Experiencing writing design proposals, in particular winning work for facility design-bid-build and design-build pursuits.

  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated training with proposal best practices is strongly preferred.

  • Working knowledge of and interest in the A/E industry, and/or federal proposals.

  • Strong working knowledge of word processing programs (e.g., Microsoft Word), spreadsheet management (Excel), and presentation software (e.g., PowerPoint)

  • Working knowledge of desktop publishing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite), graphics programs (e.g., InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop).

  • Working knowledge of collaborative tools such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, etc.

  • Understanding of CRM databases with Salesforce experience a plus.

  • Initiative, skill, and personal commitment to manage multiple projects and details concurrently, follow up, and bring tasks and projects to full completion.

  • Ability to produce accurate, compliant, and compelling work independently and with others. 

  • Proven organizational and administrative skills, including the ability to complete varied work tasks on schedule, and lead deliverable efforts by others; and the proven ability to manage documents.

  • Ability to meet non-negotiable client deadlines, sometimes with very fast turnaround times
