Job description

ENGIE has an opening for an Apprentice Engineer located in Garden City, NY . The position will assist with the day-to-day safe and efficient operation of the facility as directed by the Plant Manager, Maintenance Manager, and/or their designee. The Apprentice Engineer will assist maintenance, operations or other personnel as directed.

What you’ll do:

·  Will be responsible for performing general cleanup and housekeeping as directed. Duties will include but are not limited to activities such as mopping, waxing, dusting, cleaning, painting, grounds maintenance and general facility up-keep.
·  Will perform limited administrative functions as may be required by the Maintenance Management system, supervisor or others.
·  Perform other tasks as required to fulfill the operational and maintenance requirements of the various plants and equipment.
·  Perform all duties consistent with safe work practices as is generally practiced in industrial environments and also in accordance with established employer safety practices and regulations as delineated in the Employer Safety Manual.
·  Will be required to work overtime to cover vacations, illnesses, shift vacancies, absences and other operational or maintenance requirements.

What you bring:

·  High School Diploma or GED required.
·  Enrolled or able to be enrolled in the Local 30 Operating Engineers Apprentice Engineer Training Program.
·  Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts (7AM-7PM or 7PM-7AM).
·  Valid Driver's License.
·  Good mechanical comprehension.
·  Computer literacy.

·  Could involve some lifting, up to 50lbs
